ENGAGE + Promote: the power of the doc

This workshop discusses ways to utilize student-made documentaries to help you (1)  inspire your students to become active community members and (2) promote your program and school.  USC Magnet has been featured in several news articles and video news stories because of documentary projects that have helped to create change in our neighborhood.  You can do the same in yours.

Mise en Shot

Challenge your acting students to create an engaging dialogue that takes place entirely in a single camera shot.  Students will work not only on their acting skills but also on how to build a dynamic world with a captivating mise-en-scene.  Train your students to act for the camera and to utilize depth of field of the frame to maximize the tension and connection of their characters.  Bring your smart phone or tablet for a hands-on filming exercise.
